How long does it take to walk from Notre Dame to the Eiffel Tower?
|||
At a normal pace about 1 hour and 15 minutes, depending on the route.
|||
if you walk at a brisk pace it should take about 30 mins... i would say its about 2.5 to 3 miles away
|||
Give us an idea of the route you plan to take and maybe some of us could give you suggestions on how to make the walk a little shorter, and more interesting.
For example, you might shorten the walking by hopping on the bus for parts. You still get to see the sights, but at least your feet get a break.

The walking distance is approx. 4.5 km/2.8 mi. At a normal walking pace, most can manage this in approx. 75 minutes. BUT...it%26#39;s not the distance so much that determines how long the walk will take....but rather how often you stop along the way (often asking companions, or perfect strangers in passing, to pinch you because you can%26#39;t believe you%26#39;re in PARIS and seein%26#39; all this) to stare slack-jawed at something wonderful...or take photos...or just sit on a bench or at a café chair along the way to watch Paris, watch you, watch Paris, watching you, watching........go by.
You could also stroll across Petit Pont, to the SAINT MICHEL-NOTRE DAME RER station, at the Left Bank end of the bridge and take the RER %26#39;C%26#39; ligne train three stops to the CHAMP de MARS-TOUR STATION...faster...but there%26#39;s not much of a view down in the RER tunnel.

I have done it twice, it is farther then it looks. I am not exactly sure, but about one to one an a half hour. This assumes you are not just marching, but that you occasionally look to the left and right of you,, and enjoy the trip!

Or cross over Pont d%26#39;Arcole, onto the Right Bank and take the #69 Bus route from its stop on rue de Rivoli out in front of BHV, behind Hôtel de Ville to the end-of-the-line in the shadow of the Eiffel Tower

I didn%26#39;t realize how far away it was! In photos I would have guessed 45 minutes max. Ok, 69 bus it is. Do you pay cash once on the bus, or do I need a Bus Card like New York?
Also, can I take the metro there? If so, which would you suggest? I will be on the right bank side of the Il De la Cite (and towards Il St. Louis not the Concierge).
|||
From the Right Bank, the #69 bus route is going to be your best...and most scenic route. From the Left Bank, the RER %26#39;C%26#39; ligne train from Saint Michel-Notre Dame station to Champ de Mars-Tour Eiggel station...is fastest.
You really need to spend some time with a basic Paris transportation map/system diagram to familiarize yourself with where and how the systems work. %26#39;..Tinker..%26#39; with the RATP web site to begin to orient yourself to the city and the system.

You can%26#39;t use cash...except to purchase Metro/Bus tickets or a transportation pass. You use these tickets for enter train stations through turnstiles/gates or validate aboard public buses.
