Second Stop of Honeymoon *Paris*

Hi... I will be on my honeymoon in three weeks. I need some suggestions as to everything is Paris. We%26#39;re staying in the 8th. Any suggestions would be helpful... time Parisians usually go to dinner, should I make reservations? What to wear during the day walking around and what to wear to dinner.

Parisiens eat dinner late compared to Americans. They usually start about 8:30pm and eat until about 11pm. It is usually necessary to have reservations if you will be eating in a restaurant. Typically reservations are not necessary for bistros or cafes or brasseries.

Wear whatever you want during the day as long as you have incredibly comfortable shoes and you are layers so you can put on or take of clothes depending on the weather of the moment. Regarding shoes: just figure you will walk about 10 miles per day--what shoes would be comfortable for that.

Dinner clothing can be casual as long as you don%26#39;t go to a nice restaurant. If you do, a skirt or dress for the lady and a jacket or nice sweater outfit would be appropriate. If you go to a Michelin stared restaurant where you will be paying a fortune, then you should dress up a little more.

Thank you for your help. I have been reading and preparing for a while now but it is nice to hear from someone! Thanks again!!

There%26#39;s a lot of talk here about what to wear when you%26#39;re in Paris. I wouldn%26#39;t worry about it. When we were there last week the weather pretty much guided what we would wear, and most of the time it was sweaters and jeans or khakis. And comfortable shoes!! Yes, you might want to change for dinner, but don%26#39;t worry too much about what to wear.

We went to Paris without any dinner reservations and found we didn%26#39;t need them. Of course, we didn%26#39;t go anywhere too fancy, and we ate earlier than most Parissiens (we went around 8, ususally) so it wasn%26#39;t a problem getting in. If you have someplace in mind that you really want to go to, then check out their website and make reservations if you can.

Firstly, congratulations! My boyfriend asked me to marry him in feb in the South of France, so I%26#39;m completely loved-up at the mo! Dining out in Paris is as smart or as casual as you want to make it. I would recommend Chartier (search on google) for a late 19th Centuary restaurant. Food is simple and basic, the kirs are fab an the price is v good, the waiters write your order on the tablecloth! Great fun

Do a cruise on the river, just the basic bateaux mouces. If you wan to go to museums, get the Carte Musee - cheaper and you miss out the queues. Just have a wonderful time.
