Advice needed on honeymoon hotels

Hello,

We will be in Paris for 3 days, 2 nights for our honeymoon in Sept. I have narrowed it down to these 3 hotels, mostly based on reveiws from TA. I am having a hard time selecting one %26amp; would appreciate any advice. My fiance is 6%26#39;3, so I%26#39;m trying to find a place where everything isn%26#39;t too small :) I know that%26#39;s just how Paris is though! Also, our price range is $250-$270/night. Would like something quaint, clean, quiet, but where walking to a lot of places would be easy.

Hotel de Varenne- http://www.varenne-hotel-paris.com/index.html

Hotel Grandes Ecoles- http://www.hotel-grandes-ecoles.com/

Henri IV Rive Gauche Hotel-http://www.henri-paris-hotel.com/

I also considered La Villa Paris, but I think it is too far away from things??? http://www.la-villa-paris.com/index_en.html

Thanks so much!

Hello,

I%26#39;m also interested in hearing others opinions on these hotels/B%26amp;B. We%26#39;re also planning a trip in September 08 (our anniversary trip) and it%26#39;ll be our first time to Paris.

I really like everything I%26#39;ve read about La Villa Paris but wasn%26#39;t sure about the location... is it too far out of town? Or, just a convenient bus/train/metro ride away...

Oh, linznok, we%26#39;re in Houston...maybe we%26#39;ll just happen to be there around the same time!

Thanks!

Hi linznok,

Henri IV Rive Gauche is your best choice because it has the best location.

Grandes Ecoles is a nice budget hotel, a bit further out than Henri IV.

Varenne is in a more residential neighborhood and La Villa is far from places of interest to visitors.

Slowpoke

P.S. Have a wonderful time on your honeymoon

Thanks Slowpoke! We ended up booking at Henri IV Rive Gauche Hotel, which I am really excited about. We thought the location was perfect, so we are happy with the choice!

JMJmom---good luck with your planning also! I bought Rick Steves Paris book, which has proved to be very informative %26amp; helpful in planning our itinerary. Am still debating seeing a show at Moulin Rouge %26amp; we aren%26#39;t going to do Versailles because of time constraints. But I think we will manage to cover all the other high points!

We will be there Sept. 15-18. Hope you have a great anniversary trip!!

Hi Lizn...

Glad you chose the Henri IV Rive Gauche. I%26#39;ve walked by the hotel, and it looks nice.

However, I am writing because you say you may go to a show at the Moulin Rouge. Please, before you go, read the reviews of the M R on this forum. Please note that a recent poster was very upset because he was charged 20 Euro for cancelling.

Hope you have a great time in Paris.

Bonne chance and bon voyage.

Yes, I have read all of the unfortunate reviews about Moulin Rouge on here. So disappointing. We are still trying to decide if it will be worth the experience....I hated to see the negative comments. I%26#39;ve heard positive from people also. We just wanted to something fun one night that you could only do/see there, and its so historical, so I was very surprised when I read the reviews.

We probably won%26#39;t decide until closer to, but if you have any alternate suggestions, please pass along :)
