Hi
I will be staying in Nice for 3 days at the end of May and (weather permitting) would like to laze on the beach! I have been reading info and it appears that to get a lounger, you need to go to a %26#39;private%26#39; beach. This I am happy to do as it is a special occasion. I am staying at the Hotel Ellington, which was the ONLY hotel I could get as it%26#39;s GP weekend. (and I booked that 6 months ago!) It is located on Boulevard Dubouchage. I would like to know the best private beach to go to for a lazy day? are they difficult to get into? I hear Castel? is nice but do not know how far it is, or how to get there.
Any ideas please.
thanks

To be honest i think you will find all the private beaches are ok, Castel always appears classy as it is not decked out in blue and white as most are.
Castel is situated to the very end of the promenade in front of Hotel Suisse.

Hi
Just walk along the promenade and take your pick. The private beaches have their own fence around them.
Castel is near the port end by the Hotel Suisse and Perouse. You go down the steps and choose a sunbed and parasol. The waiter will come over to you, or you can ask as you go through the gate. The sunbeds are comfy and you get waiter service, toilet and showers, and usually decking to walk on as the beach is very large pebbles. It costs, but is worth it.
