Is Paris tap water drinkable

We will be staying in a hotel. Is Paris tap water drinkable, or we need to go for bottle water?

It%26#39;s perfectly safe. I usually buy one bottle of water and then refill it at the hotel if I feel the need to take water with me during the day. I always drink tap water at bistro%26#39;s and have never had a problem.

Yes it is - and they have electricity too!

You remind me of myself some 27 years or so ago when I first went to France: I took water sterilisation tablets with me because someone had suggested it would be necessary. It wasn%26#39;t.

If you see %26quot;eau non potable%26quot; then the water%26#39;s not drinkable.

Drinkable...and actually pretty tastey. No, it%26#39;s not my love of Paris speaking....my wife is not a big water drinker and she actually will drink water in Paris, from the tap no less!! All the more reason to move there...hahahaa...

When you go to a different country (sometimes even a different city) the water may have a different mineral content from what you%26#39;re used to. This may make you feel a little queezy for the first few hours but it has nothing to do with the water not being safe (ie it%26#39;s not caused by bacteria or stuff like that). Unfortunately some people don%26#39;t give themselves time to adjust and instantly declare the water unsafe. It%26#39;s their loss if it means they waste money buying bottled water they don%26#39;t need.

Also as a nice bonus, when you do order tap water at a cafe, it comes in a nice looking glass bottle.

I enjoyed every glass of tap water that I drank in Paris.

The tap water is not only good but it is free as well and has no calories! Save your money and calories for an extra pain au chocolate for breakfast. Works for me.
