Hi all
My hubby and I and our 2 children (11 %26amp; 8) are off to the Port Grimaud area at the beginning of June for 10 days. We%26#39;ve not visited France before and just wondered if anyone could advise us as to a suitable amount of spending money to take? Or maybe a reasonable budget per day? I should add that we%26#39;re staying on a campsite in a caravan and have hired a car also.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi
Depends on what you%26#39;re planning to do and where. So I can only give you a rough average.
If you%26#39;ll be going out to eat you%26#39;re looking at 20 euros per person for lunch. This *varies widely* across restaurants, but it%26#39;s an average for a %26quot;regular%26quot; place. Dinner is more expensive. Most restaurants have kids menus for half that price, but those lack in originality - how many pizzas or jambon-frites do they really want to eat :)
If you%26#39;re willing to take out prepared dishes from a charcuterie, grab baguettes from the boulangerie and fresh fruit from the markets, you can do slightly better. But life is expensive in this sunny region!

Advice already given is very sound, also don%26#39;t forget that the number of euros to pund at the moment is very poor, about 13% worse than last year, so everything seems much more expensive as a result. This is a very expensive part of France, however self catering for at least one meal a day will bring cost down significantly....and pPort Grimaud is a beautiful place so enjoy!
