How is the airport? Last year when I flew though it was a mess--taking a bus for about 45 minutes before getting to the terminal etc. Is it fixed? Better?

..have been through CDG 3 times since October..nothing has changed. I can always rely on this airport to provide an element of chaos and excitement to any trip. The only good thing I can say about it are the good ground links into the city (RER, AF bus, and the Roissy bus).

Indy,
It%26#39;s horrid. I would rather fly into Orly.
Good luck...

I think there must be differences based on what airline you fly in on, and which terminal it uses.
I flew in and out last year and though flying in was a breeze, just walked off plane and through customs etc. Then walked right out to RER station.
Flying out was a little harder, they changed gates ,, but we managed fine.
I have heard horror stories, but I haven%26#39;t experienced them, I don%26#39;t know if I have really low expectations( I expect waits and changes) or if I have just been lucky. I have only flown in and out twice, have flown into London and Amsterdam more often for other reasons.

Do you have a choice of which Paris airport you can fly into ?? If so, then ORLY will be the better alternative--smaller, less traffic, less chaotic, closer in to central Paris for shorter and less expensive airport transfers. If you don%26#39;t have that choice...then GET OVER IT.
CDG is what it is, when it is (relative chaos depends on the ebb %26#39;n flow of traffic and demand during the day). It%26#39;s busy, overcrowded, in need of half-again as many Gates...and even if it had begun adding the additional capacity that it desparately needs yesterday...when that capacity increase was completed...it would still be inadequate because demand would have increased to outstrip it.

KDK is right...if you have no choice, why worry? Just make sure that if you%26#39;re flying out of CDG, you get there in plenty of time before your flight and expect it to take awhile to check in, etc.

I think the busing problem relates to Air France flights... I%26#39;ve flown (from USA) on US Air, Continental, Delta, American Air and United - - I don%26#39;t recall this busing business but once and that was Terminal 1, and about 8-9 years ago.
None the less, when leaving from CDG, do not scrimp on the pre-checkin arrival time.

I%26#39;m just concerned about my connection. We have 2.5 hours so I think we%26#39;ll be fine--just hope the luggage makes it.

after our last few experiences we have decided that we are flying into Schiphol from now on -- and not make Paris our first or last stop --
and this summer we are going to China instead -- anything to avoid CDG

I%26#39;d be happy to have an eye-to-eye discussion with the jerks who designed the signage and public information at CDG. Everything is messed up. I%26#39;m French and know the airport very well so it%26#39;s not a problem for me, but I%26#39;ve nearly always %26quot;found%26quot; a disoriented traveller to help.
It wouldn%26#39;t require so much effort or money, just a little common sense.

Hi --
I refuse to fly into CDG unless there is a gun pointed at my head. I think it%26#39;s the worst airport in Europe. I fly KLM to AMS, and then take the train from there. My life is too short to do it the other way.
