Saint Chappelle & Notre Dame

Hi,

I was wondering, what are the lines like to these two churches in July? Would I expect to be lining up for hours to get in?

Thanks.

At Notre Dame, there is no admission to get into the cathedral itself. Usually there is not a significant line. However, there is a small admission fee to get into the cathedral%26#39;s treasury where there is an interesting collection of historical and religious artifacts.

St. Chappelle requires that you queue up to pass through security THEN you must queue up to get into the church itself. To bypass the line at the church, buy a Museum Pass.

The line at Notre Dame can look very long and it is very long especially at weekends but it moves at a slow walking pace and you%26#39;ll soon arrive at the entrance where you continue to shuffle around at a slow pace while inside.

The separate line to visit the towers does have an admission charge and can be quite a long wait.

Just to add to the last reply, there is, however, a big line to get to the top of Notre Dame%26#39;s towers to get a look at the gargoyle%26#39;s close up and to have a great view of the city, no matter what time of the year you go. Either be prepared to wait or go really early :)

Saint Chapelle always has a long line but it%26#39;s well worth it!

I would not mind getting to Notre Dame early, how early would you recommend? I would really like to climb to the top?

Does this mean that you should visit these two churches separately? They are so close, that I had planned on visiting them at the same time. However, I wanted to be at Sainte Chappelle late in the evening (if I%26#39;ve understood correctly the lighting through the windows would be best then) and it seems that visiting Notre Dame is best in the morning.

Pixfield - Do you mean everyone gets in security line but then you can bypass next line if you have a museum pass? The last 5 trips we didn%26#39;t get to Ste. Chappelle but definitely on list for next visit.

NOtre Dames Towers are open some evenings later, check it out , I think only in the summer, but the guy minding the quene told me its the least busy time to come as most people don%26#39;t know that and don%26#39;t bother to read the sign which outlines Towers hours.

The line for the church part of ND can look insane, but, as noted moves quickly enough.

Another way oa avoiding long line at St Chapelle is to buy the ticket for the combo , St Chapelle and Concierge , and the Concierge. The security line does seem a bit slow regardless.
