My daughter (young adult) and I will be meeting in Paris a day apart. I fly in to CDG and she into Orly. Both flights arrive mid-day. Are we best to take the RER trains in from each airport? If you could please give me answers in regard to both airports I would appreciate it. Are the train stations right at the airport? If not, how do we get to them? What kind of ticket do I need to get on it and where would I purchase it? What is the cost? Are the trains direct from the Airport to the City or is there a transfer or change? How is the train identified that I need to get on...does it say %26quot;Paris%26quot;or is it numbered? How are stops identified...is there an announcement? We need to get off at the St Michel station.What is the name of the stop prior so I can gear up to get off! I don%26#39;t want to miss my stop because I was not quick enough to get off the train with my luggage!! How long a trip from the airport? Is it difficult to take your luggage on yourself (medium roller and a tote bag?). Is it true you have to lift them over turnstiles? How frequently do the trains run? Are there more economical tickets that would include a return train trip to airport and maybe a couple bus rides while in Paris or are those two different things?
Your information and comments as always are greatly appreciated. I am so thankful to all you experienced travellers so willing to share your great advice and expertise. Thank you!

%26lt;%26lt;%26lt;Are we best to take the RER trains in from each airport?%26gt;%26gt;%26gt;
Only you can answer this question. RER is the cheapest option. It also can be the most confusing for the first time visitor.
A mid day taxi costs about 50€ from CDG, 35€ from Orly.
Shuttle services are also available from either airport:

There is not a bus drop off at or near St. Michel.

%26lt;%26lt;%26lt;Are the train stations right at the airport?%26gt;%26gt;%26gt;
Effectively yes. The RER station at CDG is in terminal 2:
http://www.easy-cdg.com
There is a rail shuttle from Orly to the nearest train station.
%26lt;%26lt;%26lt;What kind of ticket do I need to get on it and where would I purchase it? What is the cost? %26gt;%26gt;%26gt;
There is a ticket window clearly visible at the departure point.
From CDG: 8.60€
From ORY: 9.30€
%26lt;%26lt;%26lt;Are the trains direct from the Airport to the City or is there a transfer or change?%26gt;%26gt;%26gt;
From CDG: direct
From ORY: easy connect at Antony
Ticket price includes metro travel to the station of your choice.
%26lt;%26lt;%26lt;We need to get off at the St Michel station.%26gt;%26gt;%26gt;
RER B, the airport line to either airport has a St. Michel stop.
%26lt;%26lt;%26lt;What is the name of the stop prior so I can gear up to get off! %26gt;%26gt;%26gt;
Prior stop from CDG: Chatelet - Les Halls
Prior stop from ORY: Denfert - Rochereau
%26lt;%26lt;%26lt;How long a trip from the airport?%26gt;%26gt;%26gt;
30 to 45 minutes
%26lt;%26lt;? Is it difficult to take your luggage on yourself (medium roller and a tote bag?)%26gt;%26gt;%26gt;
You are responsible for your own luggage. Only you can answer if you find this difficult or not.
%26lt;%26lt;%26lt;Is it true you have to lift them over turnstiles?%26gt;%26gt;
There are turnstiles. Whether you lift them, slide them under, pull them behind you, or push them in front of you is entirely your choice.
%26lt;%26lt;%26lt;How frequently do the trains run?%26gt;%26gt;%26gt;
From CDG: 15 minute intervals
From ORY: 8 minute intervals
%26lt;%26lt;%26lt;Are there more economical tickets that would include a return train trip to airport and maybe a couple bus rides while in Paris%26gt;%26gt;%26gt;
Yes
For instance Paris Visit or Navigo
