Hi all
I need to rent a car for a week in the south of France and I%26#39;m looking for some recommendations. Can anyone suggest a cheap and reliable company? I%26#39;ve got quotes from a couple of places which seemed reasonable at first but once they add on extra collision waiver and airport/train station pickup/dropoff charges it quickly became expensive.
Any help appreciated.
Cheers
Nick :-)

Here are the least expensive you%26#39;ll find for the south of France:

http://www.france-car-hire-rental.com/

http://www.kemwel.com/
Three tips to save money:
1. request a diesel, it is much cheaper to operate
2. Pick up a car at a location other than a train station or airport. There are usually not any fees associated with dropping off a vehicle at either of these locations. Look for a city rental office.
3. Use the insurance coverage offered by most major credit cards. If you have either Visa or Mastercard, call them to find out exactly what coverage (if any) they include free of charge when their card is used to pay for the car rental. Doing this can save a great deal of money.

Unfortunately in NZ the credit card companies don%26#39;t seem to offer any rental car insurance options so it looks like I might have to fork out the extra for that - dammit!
Cheers for your help :-)

We just spent a week in a neat Peugeot diesel 2-seater with folding top that we picked up at Nice airport from Sixt which had the best deal. It was my first time renting from this company. I was satisfied with the car, which was new, and with the service. I didn%26#39;t check off-airport prices as it would%26#39;ve been too inconvenient.
