I have checked Underground Weather for late April back as far as it goes. Highs could be anywhere from 58F to 78. This is a huge range so I haven%26#39;t a clue what kind of clothes to take. I am going on over to the Danube and I think weather will be about the same there. What do I take, winter or spring?

Closer to winter than spring, in my experience.
The most important thing to bring is gloves to keep your hands warm. April tends to be cold, wet and blustery. You might get warm weather, but my experiences with April in Paris have generally been misty, cold, rainy, windy, with a few sunny breaks, with temps in the mid-50s for highs during the daytime.

Completely agree with signothetimes. I%26#39;ve been to Paris in April twice, both time mostly overcast with a few sunny spots, with some light rain and cold wind. The good part is it%26#39;s less crowded! Don%26#39;t worry it won%26#39;t hamper your enjoyment but definitely bring wintery things!

Bring an umbrella. And make sure it is a good one.

does it improve much in earlyish may?

We are in Paris right now and it is very cold. Yesterday it rained pretty hard. It rains off and on lightly at times. It is a good idea to carry a small umbrella with you. Also, gloves and a hat keep you warm. You can wear layers so if it does happen to get warmer in late April you can take things off.

My experience is that the weather really doesn%26#39;t improve markedly until early June. I%26#39;ve been in Paris in May several times, and it might as well have been March, it was so cold and blustery.

Hummm, sounds like we best definitely plan on rain! Maybe I will wear my DH%26#39;s fishing rain suit! (JK).
We arrive there on April 24. That date in %26#39;07 was 78 degrees, and sunny according to Underground. Must have been some unusual weather.
Oh well....it%26#39;s still Paris!
