Hi,
I plan to visit Paris in mid July this year with my girlfriend. I%26#39;ve never been before so ideally want to be near to the main sights and sounds, but as with most, don%26#39;t want to pay a fortune. We%26#39;re going to be visiting from monday to friday. Can anyone suggest an area to be looking to stay or alternatively recommend a specific hotel?
Thanks for your help.
Richard.

What is the maximum price you are willing to pay per night?
That info will help people offer recommendations...

Book soon the good cheap rooms go fast , since most hotels are small , 20-30 rooms , the budget priced ones that everyone may suggest are often full, and it not , prices have gone up!

Consider renting an apartment through vrbo.com. We just returned and some of the apartments will rent for less than a week. We were in the 6th arrondisement on Rue St andre des arts-- perfect location.

Hi Richard.
I suggest you book a hotel in a single digit arondissement. By that I mean post codes 75001, 75002, 75003, 75004, 75005, 75006, 75007, 75008 and 75009. It seems our American friends prefer the left bank (05 06 07) and Europeans prefer right bank. There%26#39;s a handy map on www.venere.com which is a hotel booking site. It will give you and idea of what%26#39;s where. You%26#39;re never far away from the sights as public transport is fantastic.
If you come back with an idea of your nightly budget (per room) then loads of people on here will come back with help. There%26#39;s also a search box just above this post - near the green banner. If you type in %26quot;budget hotel%26quot; you will get loads of hits.
