Rue Dauphine

My Paris map shows this street leads directly onto Pont Neuf. Anyone ever stayed on Rue Dauphine - is it possible to get a decent night%26#39;s sleep in such a busy area? These first-timers gladly accept any and all help.

If the place is on Place Dauphine, I believe rooms on the side facing the Place wouldn%26#39;t be too noisy. The Place is shaped like a triangle, thus shelters the area. Rooms not facing the Place may be noisier. I have heard that some of the hotels on Place Dauphine may be a bit rustic, and may lack amenities of more modern buildings, so do a little research on the hotel you chose.

It is a beautiful area. Place Dauphine and the nearby Square du Vert Galant are two of my favorite spots in Paris.

I stayed at Hotel Le Regent on Rue Dauphine several years ago. My room was on the street and was as quiet as could be. It was a great location.

If your hotel has double-glazed windows, noise is not a huge issue. Well, if the windows are closed, that is.

We%26#39;ve stayed at a hotel fronting directly onto rue Dauphine---usually taking a rear-facing room on the top floor, with a view of Parisian roof-tops and domes...and slept quite soundly. If your preference is for sleeping with windpws open, then request a rear facing room.

I have also stayed at the Hotel le Regent on Rue Dauphin and LOVED the area.

We didn%26#39;t consider it too noisey at all, but, our room had a/c so we did not have to have our windows open, and since they were double windows, when they were closed we heard nothing.

If concerned just get room that faces courtyard, usaully ugly views, but quietest.

Where exactly on road are you?

I lived in Rue Dauphine it%26#39;s a very good location. Can be noisy at night but as members said you with good windows it%26#39;s not a problem. Many restaurants, many bars but if you want a calm area, I won%26#39;t advise you this place. Hotels are quite expensive in this area, book fast!

We stayed at Le Regent last year for the second time in a street front room, were not bothered at all by noise. In fact we kept the windows open late at night, they are double glazed anyway, so keep out noise etc. Will be staying there again in July.

Rue Dauphine is in a really interesting area, there are so many cafes, restaurants and shops to explore, we love it.

Sorry,

I was referring to Place Dauphine on the Ile de la Cite rather than rue Dauphine in my post.

Hotel Le Regent is a sweet little Parisian hotel on rue dauphine -- loved it!

Haha,

Paris has Place Dauphine, Porte Dauphine in the 16th area and Rue Dauphine !

Your place is very very good...it is the centre of the city, walking distance from Opera, Louvre and Chatelet? About 10-15 minutes.
