Public Phones at CDG Airport

We will be arriving CDG airport on a US Air flight from Philadelphia. I don’t know what terminal. Our hotel has given us instructions, once we arrive find a public phone and dial a given number to contact the shuttle service. This service will then give us a pickup location. Does anyone know where these public phones are located and has any person contacted a shuttle service using this method, Thanks

Hi --

For all its faults, and there are many, CDG does have public telephones.

I%26#39;m quite sure that other people have had to telephone for a shuttle to pick them up at the airport.

There are signs to direct you to almost anything in the airport - the ideogram for the telephones is a telephone. I%26#39;m sure you%26#39;ll recognize it.

After you have cleared Immigration (passport control) and Customs, look for a news stand or kiosk. You should be able to get a phone card there. You%26#39;ll need one since there aren%26#39;t many (if any) public telephones that take coins or even jetons (tokens) any more. Be sure to ask for a domestique card for the shuttle. If you want to call home and advise that you have arrived in one piece, purchase an internationale card, as well. Remember the time difference if you want the folks at home to be glad you called.

Flights on US Airways typically arrive at Terminal 1.

Pay phones are liberally scattered throughout the terminal. The difficulty will be that pay phones do not accept cash. You may find one accepting credit cards. If not, you%26#39;ll need to purchase a telephone card (it looks like a credit card). These cards contain a value that depletes as calls are made. They may be purchased at magazine or tobacco stores in the airport. You were probably given an 8 digit number to call beginning with %26quot;0%26quot;. Most pay phones have instructions in English but the procedure is easy:

1. lift the handset

2. insert you card

3. dial 8 numbers (beginning with %26quot;0%26quot;)

4. you will hear a ringtone.

There are phones near the luggage pick up carousels. I have my husband get the luggage while I phone the shuttle service. There are free luggage carts. Grab one. Then you usually need to find an elevator to take you up to the next level.

Hi Portia22,

I%26#39;ll be arriving thorugh CDG as well. My hotel gave me similar instruction.

%26quot;...At your arrival at CDG airport after the customs and before you get your luggages, please call this toll-free number :

0 800 699 699 to reach the shuttle company, the hostess will give you the meeting point with the driver. Make sure you call from a France Telecom cabin and not an international one...%26quot;

I hope this helps.

I don%26#39;t know which shuttle service you are using, however, parishuttle gives you a toll free number so you do not need a card to call them.

portia22,

As you did not give the number in your original post, let me add that if it begins with 08 00, this is most likely a toll free number. You should be able to dial it without purchasing a télécarte.

It%26#39;s worth a try.

Hello, the message read: the call from the public phone is free of charge and begins with 0800. I think from all of the kind responses, I%26#39;ll be able to find a phone and call. I assume the person who answers will speak English, my Freanch is minimal, Thanks, portia22

We just did this....I was in terminal 2 but the second I got off the plane , I found a bank of pay phones. Our shuttle company gave us an 0800 number and it was very easy to call. Our luggage was very fast and we exited the door number as instructed. Very simple!

I used Paris Shuttle on 20 March. We got our bags and there was a pay phone just behind the baggage area. I dialed the number toll free; no credit card or money needed. I gave them my name and they responded in English- no problems!
