Just returned from a group trip with 11 adults and 3 kid to Paris-Venice-Rome.It was a wonderful trip especially Paris (in spite of the lousy exchange rate).
We flew into CDG via US Airways and took the Parishuttle(1 S)to the Citadines St. Germain. The only hitch was a delay caused by a security issue at another terminal- the shuttle service operator alerted us about the delay when I called after gathering our luggage (nothing lost!).On our arrival at 1030 AM, only 1 room was ready so we all piled into the room-it was huge by European standards! My friends had a large lving
room ,a pullout sofa for the kids, separate bedroom, bath and kitchen.
After dropping off bags, we headed for the D%26#39;Orsay with our passes. This allowed us to get into the place in half the time. We spent most of our day here but later separated. Most went to Champion%26#39;s for groceries and morning breakfast foods-much less expensive.
The next day, off to the Louvre where we lasted from 0900 to 1430 fortified by breakfast at Paul%26#39;s just a block off Rue Dauphine. The walk to the Louvre was in a drizzle but the sun soon came out. After the Louvre, souvenier shopping on rue de Rivoli(scarves 3 for 15 euro)and picked up a sandwich at a stand which had many Parisians waiting-delicious.We walked back to the Citadines but later walked to St.Michels square for dinner at Chez Clements-reasonable basic food.
Friday, I walked around to just take in the sights and smells of Paris. Took my friends to Notre Dame early (first time for most)and then walked to Berthillions- such friendly people and great ice cream (Creole= rum raisin).

Thanks for sharing coolbeans. What did you enjoy the most (besides the ice cream) about your trip?

I found that just being in Paris and watching the world go by from a cafe was the best part. Our group went to Rome and venice but there is something about Paris that calls to me.
