Nice to Cannes

I am attending a meeting in Cannes September 2006, flying into Nice. Suggestions and relative value of bus, taxi, or even splurge on a helicopter?

Would it make sense to overnight in Nice, to walk the promenade, the old city, and museum?

An overnight in Nice would be...nice. You can just take the train to Cannes.

Train between centre Nice and Cannes of course - Underhill is right, thats the best way - but it depends if you need to go to Cannes first from the airport or Nice centre from the airport.

If you are on an expenses paid trip, take a taxi wherever and claim it back. Its a waste of money but who cares? If you are paying for yourself, thats different. Both Cannes and Nice are served by a coach service every twenty minutes, from both terminal 1 and 2. The Nice coach is four euro, the taxi is 27 euro. Go figure, as they say

For a short visit, like you describe it, I would not bother about Nice. I would read a few TA reports on hotels in Cannes to make a short-list, then taking the bus there from the airport and select my hotel once there. There is an old town, museums and a rather splendid seafront walk also in Cannes. Then, to the extent tht you seriously like this strecth of coast and want to come back, you may consider staying in Nice next time. The whole area is IMO nice. There are a few very nice villages close to Cannes. Mougins being one of them.

Just back from Cannes last night.

FYI: Taxi will ask extra 2 Euros per lugagge. Bus from Nice airport to Cannes was 12.90 Euros per person. Dropped us close to the beach about 4 Euros trip to Majestic Hotel without another 2 Euros per baggage.

I%26#39;m arriving at Nice Airport on 11th April at 2.10pm from Paris. I want to go to Cannes by bus to Le SAint Jean at 1 Rue Frederic Mistral 06400 Cannes i.e near the palais des festivals. These are my questions:

i) Where is the bus terminal?

ii) Where can i buy the ticket and how much is the ticket?

iii) How long it takes to reach cannes?

iv) What time is the departure time of the bus?

v) Where will the bus stop in CAnnes?

vi) If I want to go to Venice from Nice by train, which train is available?
