Maggie,
When do you want to go? Let me know and I’ll pop into the Double Fond and get some information. I work just around the corner.

Hi Lynn
Thanks so much. We would like to go on Thursday 20th March. I think the show is at nine o%26#39;clock.
|||
Sorry Lynn - meant to say that there are 3 of us!
|||
Maggie,
I’ll get back to you tonight. I’ll post the information here in case anyone else is interested.
Le Double Fond is a fun place to go for something different and I’m sure the show would be enjoyable even for people who don’t speak French.
You can also just go for a drink. Sometimes one of the magiciens will do a trick for you at your table. It’s all close-up magic and they’re very very good!

I stopped by the Double Fond... they’re a bit disorganized but there’s hope.
They said that to make a reservation you would have to give them your credit card details. The easiest way to do this is by phone. They’re sorry you got the answering machine and they suggest that you phone again - in the evening around 7 p.m. Paris time. Tomorrow, Thursday, would be perfect. Philippe, one of the magicians, speaks English.
I believe that the show on the evening of March 20th is with Dominique and Alexandra Duvivier. Dominique is the owner of the Double Fond and Alexandra is his daughter. When I saw her on stage a few years ago, she was swallowing razor blades!!!
Hope this helps.
Their phone number is: 33 1 42 71 40 20.
The web site is: www.doublefond.com

Thanks so much - I also got a reply to my e-mail this evening which is probably not a coincidence!
I will phone tomorrow - my french isn%26#39;t too bad but the messages on the answer machine were very fast!
Do you happen to know if taking our 15 year old daughter with us would be a problem? Is there an age limit on going into bars in France? She would obviously be with us the whole time.
Thanks

Maggie,
Taking your daughter to the Double Fond should be fine... although you might want to mention to them when you phone that you’ll have a teenager with you.
The show is in a small, cosy, downstairs room. I’m sure you and your family will have a wonderful time.

Hi again Lynn
I phoned tonight and hopefully managed to book our places. No problem with our teenager! She said my French was very good (I think that%26#39;s what she said!!).
Thanks so much for your help - will let you all know if it is something worth going to!

I just came across this post about Le Double Fonde. I have listed this a number of times on this site as an interesting and unusual thing to do in Paris--especially if you have kids.
I was wondering if you got to go? Did you enjoy it? Even though it is all in French it isn%26#39;t hard to follow along.
I hope you had--or are having--a great trip!

Hi Everyone,
I will too be in Paris this June with my 14 nd 16 year old. This place sounds different.
Unfortunately their website is too much for me to understand. Is it an eating place with a show
or more of a nightclub.?
What is the food like?
Thanks
