Hotel Cheyenne

Hi, we are booked into the Cheyenne Hotel for three nights at the end of April/beginning of May.

There are two adults, two teenage girls who are supposed to be staying in an adjoining room, and boys of 3 and 5.

I just would love to hear random bits of information from anyone who has stayed there that may help us plan our trip (travelling by Eurostar from St Pancras).

Things like don%26#39;t worry with a hairdryer as one is provided, or bring toiletries as the hotel doesn%26#39;t supply them . . . you know, just random bits that you wish YOU had known before you stayed there.

Thanks!! Julie :-)

Hotel wise - bring a hairdryer as there isn%26#39;t one. You get a small shower gel and soap but thats it so if you want more than that then take more. You can hire kettles and a tea/coffee basket but these are on first come first serve so if pre breckie cuppa is crucial consider packing your own.

If you have the room take some snacks for the kids with you to save having to shell out in the park. Alternatively there is a huge supermarket 5 mins away by train so stock up there.

For the park itself - if you are doing 3 nights and 4 days that gives you plenty of time to get round things. Plan your visit if you can as that way you can do things in a logical order rather than crisscrossing the park. Use the fastpass system where possible to save waiting in long queues. dlrpmagic.com/guides/…

Check the parade and show times in advance so you know whats on. dlrpmagic.com/guides/…

I have only one, the drinks and bars are cheaper in the train station, and it is on the way into the park anyway. Cant remember the name of the shop but it has a red and white sign. They sell meat and salad rolls too.

I have another one. When you check in, say you want to have breakfast in the park one of the mornings. There is no extra charge and you get in an hour earlier.

Breakfast by the way (in any place, I%26#39;ve been 3 times) isn%26#39;t cool calm and collected like in a normal hotel. It%26#39;s more like 1,000 crazy people rushing for what you would think is the last bowl of cornflakes on the planet.

Better to sit down and if possible (one of the few times a husband comes in handy) and go one at a time for a few things so the kids are not getting trampled on.

Can%26#39;t you hire a hairdryer while you%26#39;re there? Or are they few and far between?

I%26#39;m staying at this hotel too but i%26#39;m sure whether i want to take my hair dryer... its big, heavy and bulky. I guess if i find a cheap one i could buy it and use that.

Also, what about saftey deposit boxes? I%26#39;ve heard you can%26#39;t get them in this hotel but there%26#39;s a big safe at reception? Its just because we want to keep things like passport, health card, euros and general belongings secure. We could lock them in our suitcases but we%26#39;re unsure how safe that%26#39;ll be.
