Honeymoon in mid-September

Hi everyone. I%26#39;ve been reading everyones posts and thought I would ask for some advice. We are flying into Paris and have about 8 nights to spend in france. We were thinking of doing Paris for 4 days and St. Tropez for 4 days.

I love St. Tropez. But do you guys think that we should shorten our trip in St. Tropez and stop in Cannes, Monaco or Nice?

And everyone is mentioning a boat to St. Tropez. Where can I find out more information about this? Will the traffic still be bad in mid-Sept.

Thanks!

Hi

The traffic will not be bad in September everybody has gone back to school.

The link for the boat is here

The boat takes a long time, if you have a car at that time of year it is faster to drive.

Have fun

unless you are coming down from Paris by train in which case you could go to Nice, have a look round there and probably best plan to hire a car to visit the inbetweeny bits eg Cannes and ST Tropez.

Should be a memorable trip, enjoy!

Much depends upon what you are planing after 8 nights in France.

With so little time, I recommend spending your Honeymoon in Paris, taking day trips from there. There are many day trip options or spending several days in a romantic hotel such as Leslie Caron%26#39;s Auberge La Lucarne aux Chouettes in Burgundy:

There are myriad other possibilities equally interesting:

St. Tropez has limited public transportation access and is a long way from Paris.

Gosh! Thanks so much! I think we will drive to St. Tropez. We are flying to Nice, so it%26#39;ll cut some of the time down and we can explore a little.

And thanks also for the day trips around Paris. I%26#39;m gonna look into some of those!!!

If you go to the Tourist Office in Nice, you can book a yacht ride that takes you up to St Tropez and back to Nice. Or you can take a shorter trip to Villefranche Sur Mer. The yacht ride is shared with other passengers. It%26#39;s beautiful.

St Tropez will be busy during their famous %26quot;Voiles de St Tropez%26quot; sailboat racing event: 26th September to 4th October 2008.

If you%26#39;re visiting during those times, I recommend you hop on a ferry boat to reach St Tropez from Ste Maxime. The Bateaux Verts company that operates the ferry from Ste Maxime to St Tropez usually has a %26quot;Voiles%26quot; special that follows the race for a little while (not too closely, but fun regardless).

The Bateaux Verts web site (has English version): www.bateauxverts.com/

If you%26#39;re honeymooning, that region has some of the most romantic spots on the western Cote d%26#39;Azur. Drop by azuralive.com to see some of them.

Enjoy!

I think the correct dates for %26quot;Les Voiles de St Tropez%26quot; are 27th September until 5th October 2008 but as you are visiting mid-september you will probably manage to avoid this extremely busy time in St Tropez (it makes August look quiet).
