Help with hotels in Blois

Hi! I%26#39;ll be in Blois from May 29 to May 31, and there aren%26#39;t many hotels available right now. I don%26#39;t want to drive, so I was looking for something in a nice area.

Both the Ibis and the Mercure Centre are full, but in the same area there are a couple of smaller hotels: the Saint Jacques and the Hotel de France et de Guise. Any comments about them? Thanks in advance for your help.

PS: I%26#39;m a woman travelling on my own, so any piece of advice regarding %26quot;good%26quot; areas to have dinner will be appreciated.

Sounds like something is going on in Blois at the end of May.

Here is a list of all of the area hotels:

My tip, make a reservation for dinner at Le Médicis and book one of the restaurants 10 rooms.

Out of the two hotels that you have mentioned, the Hotel de France et de Guis is in the better location and from the outside looks like the nicer of the two hotels. It is very central and there are many restaurants withtin walking distance. It is right in the city centre opposite the Chateau in a very pleasant area.

As far as good areas, Blois has a particularly low crime rate so as long as you stay in the city center you should not encounter any problems.

Three of my favourite restaurants are within 5 mins of either hotel-

The Le Médicis has justifiably won it%26#39;s first Michelin star this year but it is some way out of the city center.

the Etap hotel (also an Accor) is clean and new, reasonably priced, and in a good location close to Blois Chateau.

The Etap sure is fantastic value at €36 a night, especially considering its location.

We just stayed at the Anne de Bretagne in January. It was in a very nice location right around the block from the Blois Castle and about 2 blocks to the center of town. The room was large and very clean. Hope this helps!

Thank you all! You%26#39;ve been very helpful. I%26#39;ve just booked the France and Guise hotel and will let you know about it.
