Halloween in Paris?

Is it celebrated like it is in the US? We will be there 10/31 and I think it would be neat to experience a %26quot;different%26quot; Halloween.

The expats and residents of Paris will probably have more to add, but it is my understanding that while the holiday is recognized and kids can get dressed up in costumes, there is no trick o treating like what we have at home b/c of how the residences are laid out. When we were in Paris in October %26#39;05, we did see ads in the Metro halls advertising Halloween.

For what it%26#39;s worth Paris Disney have special celebrations at Halloween but you may not want to take the time to head out there.

Otherwise no, the French do not %26#39;do%26#39; Halloween the way you do in the US.

Halloween is more the scary ghosts and creepy things here. No candy is given is out. No cute little princesses and pokemon costumes, more frightening and scary.
