ATM Screen Paris

Hi, I plan on using my Bank America ATM card in Paris to purchase euros. I was just thinking, the ATM readout screen is it in French or English, or a language choice, Thanks

You should have the choice of what language you want. More importantly, make sure you have a PIN that will work - a lot of machines only take 4-digit PINs.

Be sure you use a BNP Paribas ATM so that you aren%26#39;t charged by B of A. I didn%26#39;t have any trouble using the machines last time I was there.

Also, just to state the obvious, the screen will be in English, but it only asks how many euro you want....without showing you the dollar equivilent or the conversion rate, so just have a rought idea in your head before you step up to the machine so you don%26#39;t end up with way too many. Also, it gives you a bunch of diffferent denominations which is cool....I wish they did that here in the US instead of all $20%26#39;s....

I think it is important to know, in this time of the weak dollar, that if the ATM screen tells you to take back your card and call your bank......do not panic. Simply take back your card, wait for the screen to reset, and then start all over again, this time asking for less money. It only means that the exchange rate has changed, and you are not able to get as much money as the last time that you visited an ATM. Drop the amount requested by 20 euros and try again.
