airport transportation/car rental to Marriott near Disney

Hi

I am just starting to look into a possible trip and am trying to get a rough idea of expenses. HEre are a few questions:

(I will be staying at the Marriott Village d%26#39;Ille-de-France near Disney)

1. Transportation from airport to the Marriott - is it available, and about how much for a family of 4.

2. HOw long of a drive is it from the airport to this area?

3. I plan to rent a car for the week we are there (I think that is a good idea due to some day trips we want to take) BUT, I am thinking rather than rent at the airport, there may be a car rental location at one of the resorts in the Disney area, which would be convinient to drop it off at the end of the week when we needed to take the train to Switzerland.

OR is the airport really close to where I could catch a train to Switzerland, so that is the better location to rent and return?.

I know I need to call a car rental company, just not sure which one and what to even ask for, so I appreciate a little input!

Hi ,

you can get the TGV train from CDG straight to the Disneyland station at Marne La Vallee and it takes about 10 minutes. From there take a Taxi to the Marriott costs around 15 euros and the resort can sort out car hire for you. there are shuttles from the station to the Marriott but they are only at certain times. For train info and timetables go to www.voyages-sncf.com

To reach DLP from CDG:

To reach Chessy/DLP from CDG,

(In order of my personal preference)

1. TGV

(non refundable fares vary depending upon departure time from 15€ to 30€)

Travel time 9-10 minutes

http://www.voyages-sncf.com/

depart: AEROPORT CDG 2 TGV (95) arrive: MARNE LA VALLEE CHESSY

2. Bus (VEA)

http://www.vea.fr/uk/index.asp

Adults – 17€, children under 12 – 13€

Departures every 20 minutes from 8:55 a.m. until 8:05 p.m. except:

Until 8:25 p.m. on Monday %26amp; Thursday

Plus 10:25 p.m. on Friday

Plus 9:55 p.m. on Sunday

Travel time about 1 hour

3. RER (train/métro)

http://www.ratp.com/

RER Line B towards Chatelet-Les Halles; change to Line A for Marne-La Vallee/Disneyland

This is probably the cheapest option (8.20€) but it can take up to 2 hours.

4. Shuttle

paris-blue-airport-shuttle.fr/index_en.php

Private shuttle from 1 to 8 people – 60€ to 100€

Shared ride from 1 to 8 people – 45€ to 12.50€ per person

http://www.paris-shuttle.com/

Private shuttle from 1 to 6 people – 80€ to 95€

Shared ride from 1 to 6 people – 45€ to 15€ per person

Travel time about 1 hour

Reliability varies

5. Taxi

http://www.taxisg7.com/

Convenient but can be expensive

Travel time about 1 hour

Cost estimate: 75€+

Most hotels have transportation from DLP/Chessy. There is a free %26quot;pink shuttle bus%26quot; that connects a large number of hotels in the area. This free shuttle can be very crowded and difficult to board at times, particularly with luggage and children.

For car rentals:

http://www.kayak.com/cars

http://www.kemwel.com/

http://www.ttcar.com/fr/index.php

http://www.ideamerge.com/

You will save the airport/train station pick up fee if you can find an office near your hotel. Arrange for the rental before you leave. Diesel autos will save a great deal in operating expenses.

You may be able to catch a train to Switzerland from Chessy (DLP). The web site needed is the same as TGV listed on the top of this post.
