Which is better AirFrance or American

for r/t NYC to CDG?

|||

Last Friday, March 28th, the CDG-JFK flight 45 was delayed over 3 hours. The March 27th flight was delayed 24 hours.

The seats were comfortable but the new entertainment system was flaky and had to be restarted several times. Air France, at least 2 years ago, offered free wine in the cheap seats. American did not.

CDG is not the most comfortable airport to be delayed in with only a few seats at each gate and one place to eat.

suzanne - can you explain the difference between the 2? I don%26#39;t know if flying air france is worth the 250 difference.thanks so much!

If the best deal you found was on American...then grab. Both CDG and ORLY are international airports...but almost all trans-Atlantic flights from North America go into CDG.....though with the new %26#39;..open skies..%26#39; air traffic policy, some US air carriers may be switching flights or offering new service through ORLY. Delta (a %26#39;Sky Team%26#39; partner of AF) is supposed to begin offering US-ORLY service this year. To the best of my knowledge, all of AA%26#39;s trans-Atlantic flights arrive at CDG #2-A.

I would think that the main difference between the two would be the seat room.

On AF, as with most european (international) airlines, you will have a roomier seating area.

I do know the food service is quite a bit better on AF than on Delta. And American would probably be in the same class as Delta when it comes to food service (seat room as well).

The US (domestic) airlines just don%26#39;t quite measure up...

Hands down Air France!

I flew with both of them within the year. They both stink.

Go with the one with the lower fare.
