My husband and I will be staying at the Chateau de Behen in May for a long weekend.
We have been looking for things to do while we are there but it seems to be a lot of museums, cathedrals and battlegrounds and not much else!
We are happy to horse ride, walk and pic-nic which we can do at the chateau and nearby but we were also hoping for some more %26#39;lively%26#39; things to do, in particular shopping and if there is somewhere relatively close, wine or champagne tasting.
Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

Assuming the Chateau is in the town of Behen in the Somme, Picardie?
For shopping it is only 8 miles to Abbeville, a reasonably sized town, while the main city in the Somme is Amiens, about 30 miles.
Champagne is over 100 miles, as is the Normandy cider area, the Loire vineyards are further.
Suggestion, if you like seafood, how about lunch? 20 miles brings you to the Somme bay. In the pretty town of St Valery with its treelined waterside promenade, is Les Pilotes restaurant and hotel with views over the bay. It is known for its seafood and has a huge 2,800 litre tank and the brasserie has over 40 varieties of mussels.
