Paris to the beaches

Hi - family trip to drop my daughter off at school in Paris. We would love to go to the South of France, to some nice beaches, for a day or 2. I%26#39;m clueless - how far away? which beaches are best? most economical transportation there? We would just like to flop on a nice quiet beach for a little relaxation %26amp; sun and then sit under the stars at a nice, outdoor cafe sharing some vino. Is this trip do-able or just too far away? Any tips or suggestions would be sooooo appreciated.

If you want to take an Easy Jet or some similar budget airline to Nice, for instance, a two-day trip can be viable, though not ideal. Nice%26#39;s beaches are beautiful, but very rocky.

I don%26#39;t think a TGV high-speed train trip is especially viable, given that you%26#39;d have to change lines in order to get to the Mediterranean.

I%26#39;d second Easyjet to get there.

The beaches are indeed a bit rocky.

Try the fine shingle beach at Villefranche about 5km east of Nice. Or hope on the train and go down to Cannes, Antibes, Juan les Pins, Frejus or St Raphael for some sand.

If you go through to Frejus and continue onto St. Maxine there are some beautiful and quiet coves, sandy and stunning!

You don%26#39;t say when this is? I%26#39;m guessing towards Sept - so hopefully a little past the summer rush.

There are sandy beaches at Juan les Pins and Cannes.

If you don%26#39;t fly there, taking the overnight train will save you valuable time during the day to take in sights.
