For our wedding anniversary we are going to Paris for 4 days at the end of June 08 and need a reasonably/acceptably priced, very central, 4/5 star hotel which is comfortable, clean and has a friendly staff.

Most 4/5 stars will be comfortable, clean and friendly. This is the luxury end of hotels in Paris. What is your price range?

What%26#39;s %26quot;....%26quot; ?? What amount per night, %26quot;..break(s) the bank..%26#39;?? What%26#39;s your price range?? Do you prefer a Right Bank or Left Bank property ??...any other personal hotel preferences, priorities or special needs to accompany your %26#39;reasonably/acceptably%26#39; budget?

Hotel Brighton is nice enough, I have stayed there, but it is not surper luxe not matter what the stars say. I would deifnately book a view room there , the courtyard view rooms are well, boring and bad view.. the Tuilleries view rooms have the best views in Paris!
It may be too late though to get a good room , you have left it late for busy June.

KDKSAIL :- a reply to your queries :
We feel a good 4 star quality hotel should come in at around the €275-350 mark with full breakfast.Left Bank would be nice as long as there is a reasonable view. We would like to be near the shops/restaurants/evening/night life. The hotel staff should be polite and friendly.
Regarding the Hotel Brighton, perhaps if we reserved a Pestige room we should be OK, at least the situation looks very good and the view from that type of room appears to be good.
Any further advice would be appreciated.

I think you%26#39;re not being realistic by wanting a 4* hotel with full breakfast and reasonable view for €275-350.
Last I heard, Brighton was 3* or they got upgraded?

According to various websites, including theirs, they are 4 star !!

You are going to find that almost any 4-star establishment in Paris is going to be clean, comfortable and will be polite and friendly.
Given your criteria, check out any of these excellent hotel choices in the neighborhoods of the upper-6eme-Saint Germain des Prés for convenient location and situation, to see if any seem a %26#39;..fit..%26#39; for you--

Try the Hotel Nepoleon. Great hotel, great location. Half a block from the Arc. Read my review and others on this site. Type in hotel name under search.

Friends of mine have stayed at the Chambiges hotel and they are still raving about it. It%26#39;s a 4-star and in an excellent location. Try to get a good rate using www.venere.com or similar sites.
