I am a student and will be in Nice with a few of my friends in May. We would like to spend an afternoon in Monte Carlo, and get there, if possible, by taking the route along the corniches, instead of a train, as to see all the beautiful sights and maybe even stop in Villefranche-sur-Mer or some of the other corniche towns. Are there any sort of public buses or inexpensive tours or anything like that we could take?
Thank you!

You might want to consider the poor mans Cooks Tour. Start by taking the 100 from Nice to Monaco (1 euro), the 112 back from Monaco to Eze Village(1 euro), then walk the 2 km track down the Sentier Neitschze to Eze bord de Mer (free) taking in the fantastic sights down the coast, nip through the railway line tunnel to see Bono%26#39;s beach front mansion, grab a beer at Papagayo, return to the main road and there pick up the 100 back to Nice (1 euro)
That will all fit in a day if you are up for it. However as you say, you are students. The tough bit will be getting up before noon ;-)
