Chateaux Tours by Minivan from Tours

I am looking at a full day tour of Chateaux in Loire Valley departing and returning to Tours. On the Tours tourist website they have 4 companies that run full day tours by minibus. http://www.ligeris.com/usa/excursions.html

Acco-dispo Tours

Saint Eloi

Alienor

Quart De Tours

Can anyone recommend one of the above, or have any experiences to share?

I was also wondering what does %26#39;view%26#39; exactly mean. Do you stop right outside the door and wander around without going inside or are you viewing from a distance?

I imagine these tours would be tiring - are they worth it, or do you suffered from %26#39;Château fatigue%26#39; by the end of it? We are only staying a short time in Tours and really only have one day to explore the Chateaux.

*Bump*

Would appreciate any advice on tours. Thanks.

This sound like something I would be interested in doing. Has anyone been on any of these tours?

Having lived in this area I do not take tours here. I can say that if an operator is recommended by the Travel Office, it is very likely that they are a legitimate business and offer a good service.

I can add one more possibility to the above list:

To received the greatest benefit from a visit to the Loire Valley, I recommend visitors acquaint themselves in advance with the background of the châteaux they wish to visit. This will enhance the experience and give additional insight into why these châteaux are here.

Realistically, 2 (possibly 3) châteaux in one day is a maximum without becoming overwhelmed.
