Accommodation in Paris for a single traveller

Hi,

I am finalising my trip o/s and I need to find accommodation in Paris for 4 nights. This is my first trip on my own and trying to research as much as possible before I leave. I have searched so many websites that I have found myself feeling overwhelmed.

I am currently looking for an apartment that is close to the main attractions. If you have any advise or if you have stayed in a place you can recommend please let me know.

Any help/information would be appreciated

Hi there,

There has been a lot of discussion regarding apartments on TripAdvisor lately - do a search (yet another one!) on the forums and you%26#39;ll see some of the popular options available. I did some apartment research for a trip last year and found some good looking ones on www.venere.com, which offer short-term options (we eventually decided to go through an agency because we were going to be there for 10 days and there was more choice). They do tend to be more expensive than hotels, though (but undoubtedly convenient).

Where you end up will largely depend on your budget. On your own, I%26#39;d recommend staying somewhere like the 6th, 5th, 7th, 3rd or 4th arrondissements - lots of things to see and all fairly easy to be in as a solo traveller.

The research can be overwhelming, but it%26#39;s also one of the fun bits. Just think of all that lovely anticipation!

Have a great trip.

Hotel de la Porte Doree is in the 12th, right next to a metro stop in a lovely neighborhood. I stayed here with my daughter, and tried to book it for my solo trip (ending tomorrow), but I called too late.

We were able to get anywhere within the city within one-half hour (mostly much faster). One of the owners is American, if you need assistance in English. The staff is very nice. There is a wonderful patisserie across the street, and a splendid restaurant around the corner.

Bon voyage!

If it%26#39;s available, I recommend a vacationinparis.com studio #100. It%26#39;s in the 5th on r. St. Jacques quite near the river. I stayed there in December and it was great. You should remember that when staying there for only four nights, you%26#39;ll need to consider the cleaning supplement.
