Going to paris in september, need to know if the 17th is safe to reside in for a lone female and near enough to the heart and sole of paris to make it ideal (and more affordable location) for my stay.
Any of your suggestions will help,
Cheers Louise

There was quite a discussion this week between the 17e and the 3e - this was for a family with a child in a buggy.
From what I read the 17e may well suit you if you%26#39;re prepared to travel on the metro a little more than you might in a more central area.
Personally I like the 3e or 6e.
If you come up with a per night budget and how many nights you might get some affordable suggestions?

17th has two sides : The area of batignolles, which is good, and the area of Place de Clichy, Brochant which is not that safe. For a female traveller, I won%26#39;t recommend. Of course most of the time nothing will happen, but 17th is line 13 of the subway, one of the most perturbated, this line never works !! Always full of people and very slow. Avoid Place de Clichy area.
You can find a good hotel more central ! For the same price
