Which Train Station?

We are staying at the Hotel Magellan[district 17,i believe]upon our arrival May 31st before heading south for 2 weeks.What station is the best to depart from to catch the TGV to Avignon?

I was not aware that there was a choice. TGVs to Avignon depart from Gare de Lyon.

In Paris, your destination determines which station you use. For trips to the south, you would depart from Gare de Lyon.
