How much is a taxi from GVA to Chamonix? Anyone?
|||
One way? It%26#39;ll vary between 300-400 euros depending on the date, number of people, and luggage. We looked into it last year, but simply opted for the bus like nearly everyone else. The bus is efficient. I don%26#39;t see an advantage to taking a taxi, unless you plan to make stops along the way (in which case, might as well rent a car). Or, unless sitting with other people bother you. The bus is typically more than half empty (and nearly empty when we took it last year in March).
Here%26#39;s one of the websites that have taxi rates:

There a 3 options to use :-
1. Taxi, as mentioned, you need a lot of cash.
2. Public scheduled bus service see this link

Cham-express or similar (loads of posts on these guys you take your pick. Approximately 20E each way but door to door.

Thanks for the info. Just wanted to check how much it was...I seriously thought I had been scamed when I paid 450 Euro for a taxi from Milan (Linate a/p) to Gressoney-la-Trinité in Italy last week...Guess it%26#39;s just expensive to take taxi in the Alpine region...Thanks for your help! Now at least I know how much I should expect to pay. (Going on business, so the company is paying...)

How much would you expect to pay for a taxi that would get you from Copenhagen to Aarhus?

Well..a taxi from Copenhagen to Aarhus takes 3-4 hours, depending on the traffic. The cost is approximatly 500 euro. My taxiride from GVA to the Italian Apls cost 450 and took not more than 2,5 hours... Just surprised, that%26#39;s all! Thanks again for the info!!!
