Renting an apartment in Paris

We have contacted several apartment owners thru VRBO and each has responded that the VRBO-listed unit is not available, although the calendar showed it is, and has offered units available on their own websites. Great sites, good information linked to maps with rates clearly stated, but is the risk of bait and switch greater with a non-VRBO listed property? It seems using VRBO for 1 or 2 units is a great way for owners to then show other units for which no VRBO fee would be involved. Am I being cynical?

Apparently these particular owners do not keep their calendars up-to-date, or perhaps have been in the process of finalizing other requests.

You may want to consider VacationInParis. They have an 800 number, so you can save a LOT of time and frustration by phoning to see which ones are available for your dates. Folks rave about dealing with them, that you can pay by check, credit card, PayPal..., and that you receive the keys before leaving home.

We were able to visit #74 last September, when friends were staying there, and plan to rent it for our next visit to Paris.

I%26#39;m off to Paris soon staying at an apartment which I found by simplay typing %26#39;Apartment Paris%26#39; into Google! I%26#39;ve done this in several other places (Madeira, Berlin, Istanbul) and it%26#39;s always come up trumps.

The apartment in paris is with www.holidaylettings.co.uk but they probably have a dot-com address. of course, i haven%26#39;t been there yet, but I have found that renting privately with people who advertise their flats on a site is usually cheaper and better.

Good luck and I hope you have a great time.

I am leaving tomorrow for a few days in Paris, staying in a Vacation in Paris studio. Although I can%26#39;t vouch definitively for them until the trip is over, I must say they have been wonderful to deal with so far, and almost all the commentary about them on Trip Advisor is positive. Their listings seem very up-to-date, and we had little difficulty pinning down an apartment. They are based in New Jersey, so not only can you call them for no cost to discuss options, the rentals are also paid in dollars, so you are spared the misery of watching your costs rise inexorably as the dollar continues its free fall!
