I will be arriving on BA about two hours later than relatives who will be flying American Airlines which uses a different terminal. Is there a central or convenient place anyone can suggest that we could plan to meet? My niece is a very fluent speaker of French, but my French is very limited; so asking questions is going to be difficult for me. I will appreciate any suggestions.

Hi --
I always suggest that parties meet at the hotel, no matter where they are. It%26#39;s just too difficult and too stressful to meet at any airport, but especially so at CDG. There%26#39;s no way to tell in advance if one flight will be late, or even worse, cancelled.
It%26#39;s better for everyone to head for the hotel as soon as they are able. If there are any problems with one group or the other, it%26#39;s much easier to leave word at the hotel than it is to ascertain if someone at CDG will deliver a message (not likely).
You should carry the hotel name, address and telephone number with you, in case your flight is delayed or diverted, as should the group on the other flight.
You should decide how you will travel from the airport to your hotel. In the days when I was still willing to fly into CDG, I always took the RER and Metro, but you may prefer to take a taxi or a shuttle.
Bon voyage.

BRITISH AIR Arrives at CDG #2-B, AMERICAN AIRLINES arrives directly across the way at CDG #2-A. The simplest and most straightforward plan is for the first arrival(s) to make their way from their CDG#2-A arrival terminal, across to your CDG #2-B arrival terminal and meet you at the Exit from your BA flight%26#39;s Luggage Collection area. You Exit the Luggage Collection are and STAY RIGHT THERE--rooted-to-the-spot--UNTIL YOUR NIECE FINDS YOU. She can kill time in the various food concessions in #2-B, until your BA flight arrives.
Each of you carry a print-out of the CDG #2-B terminal diagram and mark a %26#39;..X..%26#39; on the same spot for your meeting place.
*** BUT *** you should also have a back-up plan. If your flight is delayed a specific, pre-agreed amount of time...that you each make your way from CDG to your hotel in Paris on your own and meet there...or at some pre-determined café near the hotel.

Before leaving, type the name,address and telephone number of the hotel on business cards and make sure everyone has 1-2 cards. If you don%26#39;t speak French, this will help you to get to the right hotel by showing the address to the driver or you can call and leave a message at the desk- the French are very helpful if you try to speak a little French.

Now I%26#39;m confused. I%26#39;m in the same situation as MatureTraveler. There are 3 of us meeting at CDG. We felt lucky because our separate flights all arrive within ten minutes of each other. Two of us fly into Terminal 2E and one into 2A. We had assumed (I know, I know -- big mistake) that we could meet up at baggage claim, but this sounds as if each Terminal has a separate baggage claim. Is that the case? Is it possible for the 2A person to get her luggage and easily get to the 2E baggage claim to meet the other two?

%26lt;%26lt;%26lt;Now I%26#39;m confused%26gt;%26gt;%26gt;
Do not be confused.
Meet one another at your hotel as previously suggested. Assuming (particularly that 3 flights will all arrive on time) leads to mix ups and delays.
Unless everyone has an operable cell phone to coordinate and compensate for the unforeseen, just meet in town.

I%26#39;m hanging my head as I admit to having done this: we all 3 pitched in and reserved a shuttle to pick us up and take us to the apartment that we rented, so we really do want to rendezvous at CDG. Only one of us has a cell phone that will work in Europe. Is it the case that each Terminal has a separate baggage claim? Is it possible for the Terminal 2A person to get her luggage and easily get to the 2E baggage claim to meet the other two?
Forum etiquette question: Should I have asked my question in a new thread instead of replying to one on the same general subject? I%26#39;ve always just read the Forums before and not asked anything.

This is interesting as we are doing something similar in May, one couple on Air France and one couple on Northwest Air.
Can anyone tell me what terminal these two airlines use?
We have a plan to share the same shuttle service and if someone%26#39;s flight is delayed, the first couple there will then go to the hotel on their own.

%26gt;%26gt;%26gt;Is it possible for the 2A person to get her luggage and easily get to the 2E baggage claim to meet the other two?%26lt;%26lt;%26lt;
YES....as simple as exiting the French Customs control point after Luggage Collection at #2-A, turning Right onto the main public concourse, walking along the main, interconnected #2-C public concourse, across the glassed-bridge and pass through the attached SNCF/TGV train station to CDG #2-E. The time to make this walk should be no more than 10-15 minutes..even rolling luggage along in their wake. The party they%26#39;re meeting simply STAYS PUT, out in from of the French Customs exit at #2-E. There%26#39;s NOTHING confusing, complicated or difficult about it.

Thank you SO MUCH for the information. I feel much better. I%26#39;ll pass it on my two fellow-travelers.

Thank you all for your suggestions. I especially appreciate the diagram of CDG as I%26#39;ve only flown into there once. As I am an old lady (though I hate to admit it!) I%26#39;ll probably hope my savvy niece can find me using the instructions given here. Maybe I%26#39;ll tie a red handkerchief to my cane and wave it around every now and then. But then I%26#39;d probably get arrested as a geriatric terrorist! Anyway, thank you so much for responding. I count on these forums!
